Journals Interest Group

This month we started a new interest group focussing on journalling for textile artists.  The first meeting was attended by six group members and we each demonstrated a way of decorating the page with an interesting background.  Mediums used included wax crayons, Inktense blocks, Derwent watercolour wood free pencils, Conte pastels and acrylic paints. Techniques introduced were solar printing, embossed plate rubbings, a variety of ways of using oil crayons and transferring print from magazines and newspapers to paper or material..

Next meeting will focus on relief printing techniques using commercial blocks, found items, lino and foam blocks as well as monoprinting.

 Sunprinting - demonstrated by Gwyn
